Greetings!
Welcome to The Compass! - High Point
Camp's new monthly newsletter. The Compass is designed to keep you
up to date and heading in the right direction for all of your camping
needs. Each month, The Compass will provide you with information,
highlights, and news worthy articles relating to High Point Camp and the
various, camps, retreats, seminars, and activities that we will host throughout

FallFest - November 20, 2009
Looking for a great way to spend a chilly Fall night in November?
Why not join High Point Camp for the first annual FallFest? FallFest
2009 is going to be a jam-packed night of fun that you and your youth
group absolutely cannot miss.
FallFest 2009
has something for everyone. Jump into our giant boxing ring with a
friend and swing for the knockout. Try to soak the annoying guy in the
dunk tank. See if your allergies kick in on our nighttime hayride.
Roast a hotdog or make a s'more at the bonfire. Grab a sledge hammer
and see how much pain you can inflict on a Chevy Cavalier. Jump into
our Sumo wrestling suits and throw your weight around. See if you can
figure out the secrets behind Peter Pitchford's street and stage magic.
And...well...just come for a great time.
If the games and activities aren't challenging enough, Beau Eckert
will be with us to challenge us from God's Word. Beau spoke at High
Point Camp for the first time in January 2009. His love for God and
God's Word is evident and he is a passionate Bible teacher and
preacher. The message you'll receive from God through Beau will be
worth the whole evening.
FallFest 2009 is a
"Must Attend" event. You and your youth group will have a blast meeting
new friends, participating in all the activities, watching the magic,
and hearing from God's Word. We hope to see you at High Point Camp for
FallFest 2009.

Scrapbooking Retreat - November 6-7, 2009
Ever feel like you can't get anything done because the phone keeps
ringing, or the kids need you, or you are just too busy? Come, get away
for the weekend and catch up on your projects or start new ones! Gather
your scrapbook materials and join us for a fun-filled weekend of
scrapbooking around the clock! Free resources such as idea books,
die-cut machines, and use of a computer will be available to you for
the weekend. Various vendors will be present with many products
available for purchase.

Men's Retreat was a SMASH HIT!
From the Pie Feast, to the shooting range, to the home run derby, the Men's Retreat was a huge success. Dr. Dick Stratton gave great challenges to the 152 men that came from over 6 different states.
One of the highlights of the evening was the 2nd Annual Power Tool Derby. Over 15 dragsters competed in three categories: Fastest Dragster, Best Engineering, and Most Dangerous. There was a Demolition Derby to finish up the night, and there is talk of a fourth award, Most Destructive, for next year's competition.
Next year's Men's Retreat will be held September 10-11, with speaker Ken Davies. We hope to see YOU there!
