Greetings!

Fall is on it's way!  The weather is cooling, the leaves are starting to change, and we've just finished an incredible summer season here at High Point Camp.  As we get ready for our fall retreats, we continually thank God for His blessings and the work that He accomplished through the hearts of many campers.

Summer Camps
Games

This year's summer camp started with a bang.  During the first week of camp, a storm ripped through downing three trees and leaving us without power for about 24 hours.  Despite the inconvenience, the kids were good sports as we rigged up enough power from the generator to have an evening service in the dark.  The storm was a great reminder of God's infinite power, as well as his hand of protection.

The SummitOur "Superhero" theme revolved around II Timothy 1:7 - "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."  Several of the speakers based their messages around the theme, while others decided to go a different route, challenging the campers with issues about pride, abstaining from drugs and alcohol, moral purity, and being an example of Christ.

horsesFrom the blob, to the zipline, to the horses, to paintball, everyone stayed busy here at High Point.  Giant "Memory", Super-chicken bowl, Cat in the Hat, Superhero "Scrabble", and of course the "Fish and Eels" pool game were just a few of the games the kids got to play this summer.

With close to 100 more campers than last year and 80 salvation decisions, God really blessed summer camp this year.  Be sure to check out the dates for next summer on our website.  After a summer like this, you won't want to miss it!

Rock ClimbingAdventure Camp
This summer we expanded our Adventure Camp Program by adding two extra weeks of camp, and making some minor changes to the schedule and program. Our week kicked  off with a tasty meal cooked over the open fire, and then with some team-building activities with the help of the ropes course. After that, the week only picked up as we headed out to rock climb, mountain bike, paintball, shoot rifles, ride horses, and hike to St. Peter's Village. For most people, night time is a time to wind down, but not for A-Camp! When the sun went down, the intensity went up as we chased a Frisbee around the soccer field during glow-in-the-dark UltimatePaintball Frisbee, hiked through the woods, screamed down the zip-line, and dove into the pool for a night swim. Without a doubt, A-Camp was a new adventure packed with all sorts of adrenaline pumping activities, but A-Camp was also an extreme spiritual adventure, as we counseled the campers on a variety of issues both individually and collectively around the campfire at nights and during devotions in the mornings. Though the weeks were not as full as we had hoped this summer, we were able spend more concentrated time with each individual camper than we would have otherwise, and were able to see God do some amazing things.

PortageCanada Extreme

On August 7th, six teen campers and three staff members headed into the wilderness area of Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario for Canada Extreme.   The week-long trip was highlighted by the pristine beauty of the area, the God-given perfect weather, and the sightings of three moose, one blackCanoe bear, a family of otters, and hundreds of loons.  The group studied James 1:2-8 for the week and experienced significant growth and learning from the Scriptures.  All in all, this canoeing and backpacking trip went incredibly well.  We'll be going again next summer, so watch our website for details.
